I first heard about Colleen Hoover a few years ago in a thriller book group I'm in on Facebook. Someone recommended her book Verity, and I took a chance and bought it on Kindle Unlimited. From what I had seen, she mostly wrote romance novels, so I was curious to see how Verity was different.

Verity is one of the most interesting books I read in 2022. Lowen is a writer who is struggling to find work, but lands the opportunity of a lifetime when Jeremy Crawford calls to offer her a job. Jeremy's wife Verity is in a coma, and has left her award winning novels half written. Lowen's job is to finish Verity's novels so they can be released on schedule. At first, Lowen is overwhelmed by the task, but after living in the home with the family, she starts to get the hang of writing again. After a while, some paranormal things start happening around the house, is there a ghost or is it Verity?

What sets this book apart from her other's is there is a bit of a thriller aspect. I loved the twists and turns that kept me reading. Colleen Hoover definately knows how to write a page turner. I loved Verity so much, that I wanted to read all of CoHo's books after I finished.

After I read Verity, my next Colleen Hoover book was It Ends with Us. This book had a lot of popularity online like Verity did, every book club and Bookstagram I follow was talking about it, so again I gave it a shot. I really liked this book as well, it was not as "thriller" as Verity, but the story was intriguing enough that it kept me wanting to read more. I read this book in about 4 days, and I am glad that she wrote another book, It Starts with Us, that I can't wait to get into this year.

Lily is a small town girl with big dreams, she wants it all, the business, the husband, the kids. Will her dreams come true? Ryle is a sexy neurosurgeon who doesn't "date" anymore. He has his dream job, dream apartment, and is content with where his life is. When Ryle meets Lily, he is swept away and has a hard time keeping his "no dating" rule alive. When Lily befriends his sister, she starts to see a side to Ryle that he doesn't show her often.

There's a third party to their relationship in Atlas, a boy from Lily's past. Lily saved Atlas in a time of need, and they were bonded from the start. When Lily see's Atlas again as an adult, with a business of his own, will their old relationship get in the way of her and Ryle's? Will Ryle's temper be the reason he loses the love of his life for good?

I can't wait to read It Starts with Us next, as Colleen Hoover continues to tell the story of Lily, Atlas and Ryle. I have several CoHo books on my list for 2023, so stay tuned for more reviews in the future...
