The Goldfinch by Donna Tart is one of my favorite books I've ever read. I first picked up this book in 2014 when I needed a good read for an English class I was taking in college. I loved it so much, I have read it about 4 times now. I still haven't seen the movie... which I guess is strange. Maybe I will finally watch it after read number 5.

When Theo's mom is suddenly taken from him after a disaster at an art museum, his life is turned upside down. It was just him and his mother, due to his father being pretty non-existent in his life. One of his friends families takes Theo in until he is 18 and moves away on his own. Throughout the book, you get a peek into Theo's life, and the people who are after him, after him for something he stole the day his mom was killed.
This book is filled with a ton of twists and unexpected turns in Theo's life. It reads like a modern day classic, and I won't be surprised if it becomes one of those books the kids in High school read for their english classes, with classics like Pride and Prejudice and Lord of the Flies. The first time I read it, I didn't want it to end, but I also didn't want to stop reading it, and that means a lot since the book is over 700 pages long. I cherish this book and recommend it to everyone.
