Girl in Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow was a very raw and emotional read. This book is the one that got me back into reading after a few year slump. Charlotte is the kind of kid I want to be able to help some day as a therapist, reading this book broke my heart at times, but also gave me hope in the end.

As a teenager I had severe depression, so reading this book reminded me of all the things I went through, and how far I have come since then. Charlotte has no one, no family, no friends, shes a teen lost with no one to find her. While on her journey to figure out who she is and how to be on her own, she meets some interesting characters.
I read this book in a day, I just couldn't put it down. I wanted to find out what happened to her in the end. Sex, drugs and rock and roll could be the theme to this novel, as she goes through a lot of ups and downs with drugs and alcohol. Kathleen writes with a lot of truth, she doesn't sugar coat anything or try to hide how the world really works, and I appreciated that about the book.
**Trigger Warnings: Self Harm, Suicide Attempts, drugs/Alcohol abuse.**
