After watching the series on Netflix i wanted to read the book by Stephanie Land. I read so many mixed reviews on this book, some even calling Stephanie a "whiner". I was in shock at those reviews, Stephanie does a great job on bringing you into the life of a single mother in poverty (but not enough to be living on the streets), domestic violence, and dealing with a family who should be there for you, but isnt. Reading maid made me want to do more for victims of domestic violence.

After a hard childhood, Stephanie works hard as a maid for people who are well off. The people she works for all seem to be amazing people, some even helping her on her way to a better life. She became pregnant unexpectedly, and her dreams of becoming a writer were put on hold. She eventually makes her way to school, and clearly becomes a successful writer. I love a story with a happy ending! The show and the book have very small differences but for the most part it was close to the book.

I follow Stephanie on Instagram and she has done so much good with this book, her daughter has grown up to be a great woman as well. After I was done reading the book, I wanted more! I hope she comes out with a book about what happened once she went to school!
